Orthopedics training: learning about hip arthroplasty from Spain to Colombia

Training is essential in Orthopedics and Traumatology. The health and improvement of patient mobility is at stake, and in addition, the incorporation of new products creates the need to be continuously updated to be able to implant them correctly.

Surgival has always considered that the correct training of surgeons and their technical team is essential to ensure the success of its products and the patient’s surgery.

Last week the company organized a training session with the objective that the technical team of its client from Colombia be trained in the latest product developments. Specifically, the surgical specialties that were reviewed were:

  • Partial hip arthroplasty
  • Total hip arthroplasty cemented
  • Total non-cemented hip arthroplasty

The instrumentalists had the opportunity to resolve all their doubts, tell their experiences in the operating room and know first hand the correct way to implement a hip surgery with various Surgival products. The products used for this training were:

  • SELF-LOCKING cemented and cementless stem
  • BIPOLAR head
  • MULLER cemented cup
  •  S.H.Y.® cementless, press-fit cup

Surgival travels to Viña del Mar to exhibit its products at SCHOT congress

SCHOT Congress. Surgival participates in the of 2017 congress of the Chilean Society of Orthopedics and Traumatology

The 53rd SCHOT Congress was held this year in Viña del Mar on November 16, 17 and 18. It is the reference congress of Orthopedics and Traumatology of Chile. Surgival wanted to be present at the event to be able to show the attending surgeons the company’s products, their advantages and the innovations of this year and next 2018.

Elisa Félez and Ana Carmen Pardo, Export Area Managers of Surgival were in the stand 11 of the Conference Room of Enjoy Viña del Mar attending all doctors and people interested in the range of products offered by Surgival for Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology, especially for knee and hip joints.

The reception of the doctors was very good. Many were interested in the surgical techniques with the intuitive instruments that the company manufactures to speed up the work of surgeons and, therefore, reduce the surgical time.

MEDICA 2017: many goals met

MEDICA 2017 is the main fair in the medical sector. Every year, Messe Düsseldorf hosts the most important medical companies to show all their products, innovations and news. The official data of this edition is:

Surgival could not lose this appointment, marked on its calendar year after year. The company had the opportunity to present its products and new innovations to more than 120,000 visitors at its stand, in hall 13. The international sales team, the CEO of Surgival (Mara Gracia), the marketing team and the purchasing team were present in the event.

The large influx of visitors interested in Surgival Orthopaedics and Traumatology products, made it possible to meet the goals that the company had marked. This event offers the opportunity to meet clients visiting the fair, establish new strategic contacts worldwide, meet suppliers and stay up to date on the latest technological and innovative medical sector.

MEDICA Dusseldorf: Surgival again at the largest medical trade fair in the world

MEDICA Dusseldorf is the largest medical trade fair in the world. With more than 127,000 unique visitors, 60% of whom are international, MEDICA Dusseldorf welcomes the main medical companies from all over the world. This year, the event will take place on the 13th, 14th, 15th and 16th of November, at Messe Dusseldorf.

Surgival can not fail this appointment, marked on its calendar annually. There, the company has the opportunity to establish new strategic business contacts to continue its international expansion, which year after year continues to grow, arriving during this 2017 to sell in more than 70 different countries, in the 5 continents.

The main objectives of Surgival in this fair are, on the one hand, to meet with current clients who also come to it to establish the objectives and strategies for next year 2018, and on the other hand to know new contacts that help the company to open new strategic markets around the world.

Training in revision knee prosthesis from Spain to Latin America

Continuous training has always been one of the most important values for Surgival. Advances in technology have made it possible in recent years to cross all frontiers and offer direct, specialized and real-time training without having to travel.

On September 19, 2017, a new online workshop was organized, in which Simo Bensassi (Export Manager of Surgival) and Elisa Félez (Export Area Manager of Surgival) gave a course of Revision Knee Prosthesis with the GENUTECH® CCK instruments for the technical team of a Latin American distributor.

The duration of the training was approximately 3 hours, and the spectators had the opportunity to review step by step the surgical technique, and resolve their doubts in real time.

Surgival is available to all partners to train in the surgical techniques of knee, hip and traumatology of their products.

Very good vibrations in the first year of Medical Fair Thailand

Surgival attended Medical Fair Thailand for the first time, held on September 6-8 of 2017 in Bangkok.

The International Team, Simo Benssasi and Ana Carmen Pardo, and the company’s CEO, Mara Gracia, attended the event in order to present the company’s consolidated products and innovations of this year.

It were three very intense days in which the company got to establish strategic contacts in Thailand and neighboring countries, to continue with the international expansion that is experiencing year after year.

Next year 2018 Surgival will attend the Medical Fair Asia, to be held on August 29-31 in Singapore, with the aim of continuing the sales growth of the Asian zone.

Surgival and Dr. Carmen García Espert organize a practical hand training

“Practical course on hand in corpse. Most frequent approaches”

Surgival, together with Dr. Carmen García Espert of La Fe Hospital (Valencia), organized the “Practical corpse hand training, frequent approaches“. The event took place on 23 June from 16.00 to 20.00 at the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry of the University of Valencia.

The attendants were 12 residents of La Fe Hospital. During the day they had the opportunity to learn by practicing with corpse the minimally invasive techniques of hand approach. As well as the most common complications that can occur in each type of approach. The speaker and teacher, Dr. Carmen García Espert, has a great experience in this extremity and shared all her knowledge, tricks and advices to the young people in this hand training.

These trainings and workshops are really important for Surgival. They enable the company to approach health professionals and offer them the best training, contributing to the continuous improvement of medicine. This hand training, in particular, allows medical residents to be trained, which will be the future of medicine.

Surgival would like to thank Dr. Carmen García Espert and the Department of Anatomy and Human Embryology of the University of Valencia for their invaluable collaboration in this training project. As well as thank all the attendees, for making this successful hand training possible.

Once again Surgival participates in the 50-10K-50Horas challenge of Avapace Corre

Surgival participates again in the challenge organized every year by Avapace Corre, the athletic club of the Valencian Association of Cerebral Palsy Aid (Avapace). The event was held on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th of June in the tracks of athletics of the Turia Gardens, in Valencia, Spain.

The challenge is to perform 50 races of 10 kilometers each.

The company participated at 1:00 pm on Saturday in one of the races, with 29 workers and relatives involved.

The atmosphere that was lived in the event was very healthy, respectful and solidary, with hundreds of people involved in the same cause. Surgival tries to contribute in causes as important as Cerebral Palsy.

The company promises to repeat the experience in 2018, hoping it will become a tradition.

 

Mauritania surgeons visit Surgival headquarters with Surgeon to Surgeon Program

Surgival receives 4 doctors and 1 theatre nurse from Mauritania with the Surgeon to Surgeon program. 13th, 14th, 15th and 16th of February the surgeons will attend several knee and hip arthroplasties, will practise the surgival techniques with workshops and will know the Surgival headquarters in Valencia.

The aim of this visit is to train the doctors with the best surgical techniques to implant Surgival products. Surgival reference doctors will teach them their tips and way to operate with GENUTECH knee system for example.

The company thanks the support of all the people involved with the Surgeon to Surgeon program, where doctors and technicians from all over the world can get first class training by world reference surgeons.

Once again, Surgival in Arab Health 2017

Surgival never misses the important ARAB HEALTH event, based every year in Dubai, UAE. This 2017 the company was attended by its export team and its CEO, Mara Gracia.

The company’s international team was exhibiting the products from January 30 to February 2. As a remarkable innovation, it was the first time that the new column line that Surgival intends to market since this year, was displayed.

This new column line has very innovative, versatile and adapted products to all the needs that surgeons may have. Both current and potential customers were very pleased to see this new range of column products.

The company is already managing its new international event: the AAOS (American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons), which will take place in San Diego, March 14-18.
